Support at Home streamlines in-home aged care into a single program, assisting older people remain at home as they age by delivering coordinated care and services to meet their assessed ageing related care needs.

Better In-Home Care has agreements with licensed aged care providers to support clients under their funded Support at Home Program, as well as through private pay arrangements.

What are the Funding classifications?
There are currently several different funding avenues for Support at Home Program:
- 8 classifications to fund ongoing services depending on assed age-related care needs.
- 3 short-term pathways to fund assistive technology and home modifications, restorative care and end-of-life care.
- 4 transitioned Home Care Package classifications to provide an equivalent level of funding for those who transitioned to Support at Home.
What services are available with Support at Home Program?
Support at Home Program provides services in three categories
- Clinical care: nursing, allied health, continence support
- Independence support: personal care, medication prompts, transport, respite
- Everyday living: cleaning, gardening, shopping, meal preparation
Can I choose my own Support at Home Program provider?
Yes. Because all Support at Home Programs are delivered on a Consumer Directed Care (CDC) basis, you can then choose a service provider that is right for you.
How much does the Support at Home Program cost?
Support at Home Program is funded by the federal government with quarterly budgets that align to the participants assessed needs. Participants may have contributions towards services assessed based on their income and assets.
What is Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)?
The CHSP is an entry-level in-home aged care support program that helps older people to live independently in their homes and communities. The CHSP also provides respite services to give carers a break.
The program aims to:
- Help older people live as independently as possible
- Focus on working with them, rather than doing things for them
- Give a small amount of help to a large number of people.
